WAYNE, NJ (January 11, 2011) – Toys“R”Us, Inc. today announced that its seventh annual in-store and online campaign benefiting the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation raised $3.6 million and collected over 325,000 toys, helping to spread holiday cheer to America’s neediest children by providing them with gifts to unwrap on Christmas morning. In partnership with four-time NBA Champion Shaquille O’Neal, Toys“R”Us®and Babies“R”Us®customers were encouraged to “Join Shaq Give Back” by donating new, unwrapped toys in stores, as well as contributing cash in-store and online through Christmas Eve.

To further demonstrate the company’s steadfastness in helping ensure that kids experience the joy of the holidays, Toys“R”Us, Inc. donated more than $1 million worth of toys to Toys for Tots, targeting some of the nation’s most vulnerable regions of the United States. The Toys“R”Us Children’s Fund supported the “Join Shaq Give Back” campaign and also awarded Toys for Tots a $250,000 grant to help Marine units around the country with their holiday gift-giving needs.

In addition to the six-week holiday fundraising program, this summer the company implemented a three-week campaign to help keep Toys for Tots top-of-mind year-round.
