On Friday, August 25, Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas, leaving a path of unprecedented damage and destruction in its wake. Harvey’s record rainfall is caused extreme flooding, and initial reports estimated that several hundred thousand people will be temporarily displaced or affected by the storm.

Hurricane Irma followed on Saturday, September 9, making landfall in Florida and causing power outages, record flooding and extensive damage to homes and communities throughout the state.

And now, Hurricane Maria has devasted Puerto Rico, leaving the island without power and resources for what could be several months.

We are committed to standing side by side with all residents and our Team Members in the affected areas through what will be a several very long and recovery efforts.

Here are a few ways we are getting involved:

Good360 – Toys”R”Us is partnering with Good360 to provide more than $1 million in products that are essential for disaster recovery - such as diapers, wipes, baby/kids clothing, pack and plays and bath items within the affected region over the course of the next year. Good360 is a leader in disaster recovery – sourcing items that are needed during long rebuilding periods.

Geoffrey Fund – The Geoffrey Fund, which is sourced solely through donations by Toys“R”Us employees, will provide emergency financial assistance for team members who have been affected by these storms. Over the past few years, the Fund has provided extensive support to families affected by natural disasters.

Save The Children –Toys“R”Us, Inc. and Save the Children, the leading nonprofit working to ensure every U.S. child is healthy, safe and learning, have partnered for more than a decade to bring awareness to the cause, with Toys"R"Us also providing more than $10 million in product and monetary donations to the organization. The partnership is designed to help Save the Children's efforts to help protect children, ensure their safety in shelters and at community recovery sites, and support their emotional recovery during times of natural disasters. In 2017 alone, Toys“R”Us donated $1 million dollars to Save the Children aiding communities in their times of need, including those affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
